Software License

1. License grant

Subject to a valid Chrovia License and these terms, Chrovia grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the applicable software on supported platforms for your internal business or professional purposes.

The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Chrovia and its licensors.

The scope of enabled capabilities is defined by the entitlements and other signed fields in the Chrovia License issued to you, not by local preference toggles alone. Missing or invalid authorization fails closed.

2. Products covered

These terms apply to software distributed by Chrovia, including:

• Persona Hub desktop software;
• Merca desktop software;
• Chrovia SDK binaries and related runtime components;
• provisioned product components and updates delivered with those products.

Website, Console, and account use remain subject to the Terms of Service. Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy.

3. Restrictions

Except as expressly permitted by Chrovia in writing or by mandatory law, you may not:

• sublicense, rent, lease, lend, sell, or publicly redistribute the software;
• provide the software as a hosted service to unaffiliated third parties;
• remove proprietary notices, branding, or license enforcement mechanisms;
• bypass, disable, forge, or interfere with license verification, lease checks, signatures, or entitlement gates;
• share one license or client secret beyond its authorized use;
• attempt to extract private signing material or other secrets from client or server systems;
• copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the software except as needed for ordinary use or permitted SDK embedding;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except where applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction;
• use the software to develop a competing browser kernel product by copying non-public Chrovia implementation details.

4. Chrovia License documents

A Chrovia License is a signed authorization document verified by the browser with embedded public-key material. Private signing keys remain server-side.

Where a license requires an online lease, continued authorized use may depend on successfully obtaining and renewing that lease. Unauthorized states, expiry, revocation, or terminal server denials may lock gated capabilities.

You must not alter signed license files or present forged authorization material.

5. Extended Preferences and profiles

Extended Preferences may contain:

• a signed internal section used by the kernel for issuer-controlled configuration; and
• unsigned product or user fields used by management clients such as Persona Hub and Merca.

You may manage profiles for your authorized use. You may not strip, re-sign, or tamper with signed fields without issuer authority. Browser-managed local caches must not be used to defeat signed configuration.

6. Chrovia SDK

You may embed the Chrovia SDK into your own products only under a license that grants the relevant entitlements and distribution rights. Embedding does not transfer ownership of the kernel or permit unrestricted redistribution of Chrovia binaries outside the licensed scope.

7. Third-party and open-source components

The software includes or depends on third-party and open-source components, including Chromium-related code. Those components remain subject to their own license terms. Nothing in this document limits rights you may have under those third-party licenses for the corresponding components alone.

8. Ownership

Chrovia and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the software, documentation, branding, control-plane services, and all copies. Feedback you provide may be used by Chrovia to improve products without obligation to you.

9. Support and updates

Support levels, update channels, and platform coverage depend on your subscription or commercial agreement. Chrovia may provide updates that change features, fix defects, strengthen authorization checks, or retire unsupported platforms.

Updates may be required for continued secure or authorized operation.

10. Termination

This license ends automatically if:

• you breach these terms or the Terms of Service;
• the underlying Chrovia License expires or is revoked;
• your commercial agreement ends; or
• Chrovia terminates access for security, legal, or abuse reasons.

On termination you must stop using the software and destroy or cease distribution of copies under your control, except where retention is required by law. Survival clauses for ownership, disclaimers, and liability limitations continue to apply.

11. Disclaimer and liability

The software is provided under the disclaimers and liability limits in the Terms of Service, including the “as is” disclaimer and aggregate liability cap, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
